At our practice, we’re always looking for ways to develop our skills and enhance how we communicate design ideas.
Earlier this year, our team took part in a hand sketching workshop, reinforcing the value of sketching as a fast and effective way to explore concepts and communicate design intent. Hand sketches remain an essential part of the design process, allowing ideas to evolve quickly and collaboratively.
More recently, we explored the growing role of AI in architectural visualisation through a workshop focused on creating concept imagery, moodboards and presentation visuals. The session demonstrated how AI can help communicate the look and feel of a project at an early stage, supporting design development and client engagement.
What made the workshop particularly valuable was seeing how these approaches can work together. A hand sketch can become the foundation for AI-generated visuals, transforming an initial concept into compelling imagery while retaining the original design intent. Rather than replacing traditional architectural skills, AI provides another tool that expands how we develop, refine and present our ideas.
As technology continues to evolve, so do the ways we communicate design. By embracing both traditional techniques and emerging digital tools, we’re expanding our creative toolkit and continuing to improve how we bring architectural ideas to life for our clients.
