Located close to the town centre and train station, this development of 74 two and three bedroom apartments sets a new standard for quality and density at the edge of the city centre. The massing addresses the scale of the adjacent two- three storey Victorian villas and the larger scale Ziggurat building opposite which rises to nine storeys. The mass of the single block is broken into three elements as the building steps in plan and section down the gradient of Grosvenor Road. Each stepped element receives a slightly different architectural expression of stone banding, window linings and brick detailing to create a sense of both diversity and overall homogeneity. Developed over a three year period with continuous input from the LAPD the scheme is currently going through the planning appeal process.
